Italy made the largest mistake i've ever seen in test rugby playing bergmaster (SP) in scrum half, even with 3 injured players for that poision out of action.

Without him, the Englant / Italy game would have been much, much closer, and could have inspired italy to do soemthing usefull. As it was it was the most painfull match i've ever seen. England were Dire, Italy had no spirit. I am glad it was over.


Ireland v France was amazing. Ireland are going to be 'the team to beat' this year. Nice to see O'D back on form too. Great ball control by bboth sides, great discipline, great flowing rugby. A pleasure to watch.

Wales/Scotland could have been better but in the end when you are 30 points up away from home and it's -2, your mind is going to drift. It will give us (Wales) a solid kick up the arse though i hope as if they slack of flike that vs Ireland they will get a kicking.

Predictions: Ireland/Wales for the grand slam to be decided in the Millenium stadium on the 21st.
France 3rd, scotland 4th, england 5th, italy 6th.

Ireland or France IMO, the rest are also rans. England were handed opportunity after opportunity and fluffed it. The Italians were so shite that any decent team should have given them a thorough shoeing, England let them off lightly.

Wales have too far to go this season to be contenders. Next year maybe.

Scotland have had rubbish form for years.

Ireland are playing like giants at the moment but I think it will all collapse when the pressure is on.

France do stupid stuff but are probably the strongest team in the championship at the moment. When they bring it all together they are pretty much unsotppable.

England lost the plot when their senior team retired and haven't found it yet.

Italy were only invited to the contest so that Wales would have someone to beat.

as for the Ireland game they won played well but the French made a ton of mistakes so I expect them to improve, for me the Welsh are just firing bigtime the pace of their game vs Scotland showed that after 70 mins they were still hitting the breakdowns and using serious crash ball with pace.

I would even be so brave as to say France move up to second, they do have a knack at causing upsets.

I was watching it at a mate's house and as neither of us particularly bothered who won, he supported ieland and i spent all afternoon cheering on "Not Ireland"

I can't see what you mean Req by "wales have too far too go". They haeve a few injury issues but they should be resolved over the next 2 matches. They are up there with the best in the world atm after destroying Australia before christmas. Definately the team to beat. Watching them pick the Scottish pack up scrum after scrum was a joy to behold.
