What builds are people using?

For my Barb, which is lvl40 in NM, I have been trying a few builds, but not really satisfied with one yet.

I use 1 hand & shield and up to 38 used (sorry not got linky to build yet)Bash, WW, revenge, battlecry, earthquake, ignore pain.

Been trying: frenzy, revenge, battlecry, warcry, ignore pain, Warcry of berzerker?

Been looking at DW and 2H, but not seen a 2H that is better than a 1 h yet.

well i now have a 55 monk and a 57 mage, the mage rocks the monk doesn't, on the mage i have gone for high hp and int and trying to make her survivable.

teleport always use this for those get out of jail times, quite a few
energy shield for benefits to arcane
explosive blast, the 3 blast version which i love
meteor storm which i reckon is much better than the ice version and blizzard
and lightning for regenerating arcane

my 3 passives are lightning dmg, fire dmg and cant think of the last one

i also use a shield with + resists which are currently sitting at 121 for all resists

hopefully going to bump up max hp int dmg and resists, all in all she survives alot better than my monk, one because of the teleport two because of hp's.

once she is 60 going to revisit monk and work on sorting him out.

thsi si the build i'm using in inferno on my barbarian. It works DW and Sword+Board:

It does absolutely everything i need of it. Manoeuvrability from Leap. Burst from WotB. Damage mitigation from Overpower, and self healing from revenge adn extra damage by not using fury.

I'm stuck about halfway through Act2 though, need a bit more dps before it's easier, though my survivability seems ok with ~550 resists, 45kehp adn maxes around 17k dps at max fury.

Could you link your full wizzard build Git? I'm getting mine up to mid 40's now where having a good build matters....

Got a 60 wizard that just melts everything. But I use quite a defensive build (from HC mode)

1 - Frozen Circle with reduced CD - Good for stalling while kiting.
2 - Gust of Wind + reduced CD - again, blasts everything back allowing for a quick escape.
3 - Diamond skin until lvl 58, then teleport with 3 port rune - Diamond skin is really effective until act 4 Hell mode, you're effectively invulnrable, I prefer it over TP as its much safer, and allows you to plan instead of just blasting out of a space in a panic. But come inferno, it doesn't even block 1 hit.
4 - Magic weapon with fire rune thing = +15% damage.

LMB - Magic missile with dps rune
RMB - Arcane orb with dps rune

Passives = glass cannon, the 20% arcane power + regen one, and power hungry (+mana when eating health orbs). Sometimes I'll switch GC for reduced melee, depending on situation.

I clock in at 16.5k DPS at the moment, and act 1 mobs all go down in about 1 orb with the rune. Running 50k HP as well, with 700 resists.

I see alot of people using disintigrate but I prefer the mobility of arcane orb, I can kite very effectively, instead of having to run/turn + aim/run again. Been farming act 1 for a week or so now, and only had 1 death due to my own fault and being greedy with a pygmy.

sounds interesting, what level is this build viable from? not saying i dislike mine i love it lots, but it usually works well either in a full ranged group or full on dps group where I am not the centre of attention, which lately i seem to be lol :)

I've ran it literally from when you can have all 4 abilities on the actionbar. You could risk more DPS if you wanted, but I think its a good balance. The idea is literally "don't-get-hit". I don't like the effects of energy armor or what not, -20 arcane power is a big loss, plus it reduces regen. Once you're in hell mode and above, you're looking at 3/4 hits before death at best, if you get mobbed, you're dead, even with a full on armor spec.

The build is pretty much, kite or die. if anything is close, freeze them, gust of wind is your backup, TP if needed, or freeze again if its off CD (only 9s with rune). get 12% movement boots, and then stack your DPS with vit/res if its available.


As for playing with others, I personally don't change it much, since even barbs don't have great CC abilities, its built for range and run. So no explosive blast or spectral blades. It may not be the best build out there, but I very very rarely die even on SC, haven't dared go far in HC yet ;)
