Here is what *could* be one of the biggest news to come for Blizzard fans, Blizzplanet (known to have a tight relationship with Blizzard) and Diablo3.com are both displaying a countdown with twelve days left on it, so the *fateful day* is May 1st.

What's going to happen in 12 days? There are several theories, one of them being the acquisition of Diablo3.com domain name by Blizzard, but we will know for sure on May 1st. Knowing BlizzPlanet, we seriously doubt it's an hoax.

Not sure I'd be interested in D3 unless it was a mmorpg or at least 3d. More of the same would just seem so dated now.

And IIrc Blizz had a d3 domain name registered a couple of years ago but let it lapse, not sure how accurate that statement is because my memory is shite :)

In the past days there have been a lot of activity in the network sites after the countdown teaser. A few forum threads keep continuous debate between Diablo fans of what this announcement will be. I have given a few responses of what it is not, to make sure fans won't be thinking the wrong thing. We have made no claims and expect fans to not get caught up with the wave of speculations and rumors in the forums and the web to the point to believe them.

With that said, I will mention some of those I have ruled out since it seems fans haven't thoroughfully read all the forum posts in said thread.

Things the May 1 Announcement are not:
1. It is not an official announcement of Diablo 3
2. It is not about an upcoming Diablo novel
3. It is not a Network merge

It's obviously the long awaited release of Diablo4 :D

Actually I had a little titter when I saw that the fact that www.diablo3.co.uk redirects to the Arreat Summit was being claimed as proof that diablo3 was coming.

I bought the domain years ago. Hur hur.
