Now that I turned down BLAST Alliance while I was looking for a new Corp, I wanted to try my luck with faction warfare.

I would like to get back to Chicks offer of talking with that RL friend of his about whether he needs any more people for faction warfare.

Can you contact him and see whether he can use a noob along, Chick?

There are 2 guys it's probably worth trying out:
Loryanna is the minmatar Faction warfare chap. He sahould be able to help you out for sure - tell him that Iteken / Martin sent you.

If you're interested in Space taking warfare - speak to Dacovale. Again - Tell him Iteken sent you.
