Modifications

- Altered stats of many Unique and Set items*.
- Added a new type of gems.
- Added several new Runes.
- Added several new Set items.
- Added several new Unique items.
- Added several new Charm graphics.
- Added many new Horadric Cube recipes.
- Added many new rare and magic affixes.
- Added new runewords, including Duress, Famine, and Pattern.
- Rare items will now always spawn with six affixes if possible.
- Removed few very low-end magic and rare affixes.
- Restricted some low-end rare affixes from generating on certain item
types.
- Reduced level requirements of certain rare and magical affixes.
- Increased the chance slightly to get Set and Unique items from Gambling.
- Greatly improved Crafted items.
- Greatly increased stack sizes of most Throwing weapons.
- Improved magical item drops from non-boss monsters under all
difficulties.
- Added Rare Charms that are greatly reduced in power but spawn with six
affixes.
- Slightly increased the drop rate of higher level Runes.
- Ears dropped by killed characters automatically disappear after
a shorter period of time.
- Antidote and Thawing potions now give protection for 8 to 16 seconds.
- Added smaller Identify and Town Portal tomes that can carry a maximum
of six scrolls.
- Increased the maximum possible level of skills on Charged items.
- Added new Large and Grand Charms that take horizontal storage space
instead of vertical one.
- Added three new quests in Act IV.
- Certain quests on multiplayer games can now be completed, for characters
that have not done them, even if the character that created the game
already completed them in a previous game.
- Quest rewards from Akara in Act I and Ormus in Act III now have a 50%
chance to give an amulet instead of a ring.
- Smashing the Compelling Orb in Act III now rewards you with a rare
jewel.
- Quests that reward a hireling now give the option to either hire a new
hireling or resurrect a dead hireling if one exists.
- Items given to a character by NPCs no longer drop on the ground when the
inventory is full.
- Akara in Act I now rewards a rare ring or amulet, when possible, for
rescuing Deckard Cain on normal difficulty.
- Personalized items now glow when used on the character that personalized
them.
- Personalizing an already personalized item will clear the personalized
name.
- Socketing an already socketed item will clear one socket.
- Added several new shrine graphics in all Acts.
- Fire Shrines no longer effect friendly and neutral characters nearby.
- Stamina Shrine now increases run/walk speed by 25%.
- Portal Shrine now drops 2 to 4 town portal scrolls.
- Added Treasure Shrine: increases the chance to find Magical items and
Gold by 25% and 50% respectively.
- Added Resistance Shrine: increases the maximum of all resistances
by 15%.
- Added Life Shrine: +300% life regeneration.
- Added Proficiency Shrine: adds 25 points to Strength, Dexterity,
Vitality, and Energy for a limited period of time.
- Added Infravision Shrine: increases light Radius and allows you to
see monsters behind walls.
- Added Knowledge Shrine: reveals the complete map of the area.
- Added Miracle Shrine: closes and refills all open chests in the area.
- Added Goat Shrine: gives a random shrine effect.
- Resist Fire, Cold, Lightning, and Poison Shrines now also add absorb.
- Added several new monsters to the game.
- Increased monster variety and randomness per area.
- Monsters of the same type now have varied Defense and Attack Rating.
- Monster auras no longer change after leaving and returning to the same
area again.
- Monsters no longer spawn near the Halls of the Dead Waypoints in Act II.
- Monsters no longer spawn near Temples entrances in Act III.
- Monsters no longer spawn near Throne of Destruction entrance in Act V.
- Act IV monsters no longer block the Pandemonium Fortress town entrance.
- Monsters now spawn in a variety of colors.
- Simplified Shenk The Overseer death animation.
- Bosses and Champions now spawn in Act V Bloody Foothills.
- Increased the monster population of Blood Moor in Act I on Nightmare and
Hell difficulties.
- Screen shaking caused by an Act boss death is now less drastic.
- Mephisto's movement is no longer blocked by the blood river in Act III.
- Monsters too close to entrances, Waypoints, or Town Portals
automatically move away when no characters are around.
- Lowered maximum duration for which Hirelings could be poisoned.
- Hirelings can now equip a variety of weapons.
- Added a new hireling that can be hired at Act IV.
- Act II hireling now always have their auras active.
- All hirelings now have varied special skills.
- You can now have one of every type of hireling, only one useable at
a time.
- You can now use town NPCs to switch between hirelings without losing
their progress.
- You can now leave your hireling at NPCs and play without one.
- Added a hireling experience bar above the Stamina bar.
- Some items equipped on hirelings are now reflected on their look.
- Hirelings now have enough inventory space to carry three charms.
- Hirelings can now carry four emergency potions that are automatically
used when health drops below 20%.
- SHIFT + RIGHT-Clicking a stack of keys picks up one key.
- SHIFT + RIGHT-Clicking a tome of town portal or a tome of identify
picks up one scroll.
- Added a new music track.
- Added an option to select which music tracks to play.
- Added an option to disable Act cinematics.
- Game elapsed time is now displayed within the game.
- Added a lock on one of the inventory weapon/shield slots. When
activated, hitting the switch weapon key "W" will not change
weapon/shield equipped in this slot. You cannot use this lock with
two-handed weapons.
- Moving gold from the Stash to the inventory now moves the maximum
possible amount without dropping gold on the ground if you try to move
more gold than there is space to hold it.
- Assigned default keys for the 8 new skill hotkeys.
- Changing the Automap options using the F9, F10, F11, and F12 hotkeys now
displays confirmation messages on the screen.
- The "Z" Key now displays confirmation messages when toggled.
- Added an option to quit the game directly to the main menu screen.
- Added an option to quit the game directly to the main Character select
screen.
- Greatly increased the size of the "Message Log".
- "Message Log" now stores messages initiated by others while you were
trading.

- Each account now has one large shared item inventory that can be

- All characters can now equip two arrows quivers or two bolts quivers
instead of one.
- Pressing ALT + PrintScrn while hovering the mouse over an item captures
a screenshot of that item's hover text box.
- Long character names are now display in full in ladders, channels, and
party screens.
- Greatly improved path finding for characters, minions, hirelings, and
monsters.
- Items sold to NPCs can now be purchased again for no extra cost if the
seller doesn't leave the trading screen.
- Curses no longer override shrine effects.
- Character death no longer causes all inventory gold to drop on the
ground.
- Inventory gold lost upon death is now based on a percentage.

Improvements

- Increased the maximum number of characters that can be created per
account from 8 to 16 characters.
- You can now specify a default channel to join upon login.
- The join game menu now remembers the name of the last game you entered.
- Battle.net now remembers the last few used accounts in the login screen
and allows you to select one. This list can be reset.
- Moved the "Quit" button away from the "Join" button in Battle.net chat
to prevent accidental clicks.
- Increased the power of the gem in chat.
- Certain Battle.net error messages now can be canceled. They previously
showed for a long time.
- Latest Battle.net news, realm status reports, and realm down times are
now displayed within Battle.net chat.
- Added new "Cancel" button to game loading screen.
- You can now create Hardcore characters even if you haven't completed
the game on normal mode.
- Characters are no longer deleted when inactive for a long time, as long
as the account is being used at least once every three months.
- You can now see the date your account and individual characters were
last used in the Character select screen.
- Changed "players X" command into "/players X" and added on screen
confirmation messages.
- Battle.net friends list whispers are now much shorter and in different
color.

Skill Balance Changes

Barbarian
- Greatly improved Leap.
- Increased effectiveness of certain Warcries.
- Grim Ward now reduces monsters effectiveness.
- Battle Command can now add a maximum of two skill levels.


Paladin
- Smite skill improved.
- Cleansing skill improved.
- Greatly improved Sanctuary.
- Increased Blessed Hammer damage.
- Slightly increased Conversion duration.
- Faster Prayer skill life regeneration rate.
- Increased Holy Bolt healing rate and damage.
- Holy Shock damage is now based on a percentage.
- Resist Fire, Cold, Lightning skills now add absorb.
- Blessed Aim now, very slightly, increases both speed and damage.


Necromancer
- Greatly improved Confuse.
- Improved Poison Explosion.
- Greatly improved Dim Vision.
- Added splash damage to Bone Spirit.
- Increased life and damage of summoned skeletons.
- Increased damage of Teeth, Bone Spear, and Bone Spirit.
- Increased effectiveness and duration of poison based skills.

Sorceress
- Improved Blaze.
- Improved Chilling Armor.
- Blizzard now always hits.
- Increased damage of Frost Nova.
- Increased damage of Lightning skill.

Amazon
- Improved Immolation Arrow.
- Valkyrie speed increases per level.
- Strafing Arrow now shoots more arrows at higher levels.
- Improved effectiveness of certain Javelin and Spear skills.

Assassin
- Certain traps last longer.
- Increased damage of Psychic Hammer.
- Slightly improved Cloak of Shadows.
- Slightly increased Venom poison damage.
- Dragon Flight now always hits correctly.
- Increased damage of certain Traps Tree skills.
- Increased elemental damage of many Martial Arts skills.
- Slightly increased the time monsters stay Converted when using Mind
Blast.
- Cloak of Shadows no longer causes friendly characters screens to go
darker.

Druid
- Increased poison damage of Rabies.
- Greatly increased damage of Ravens.
- Increased fire damage of Fire Claws.
- Greatly increased damage of Dire Wolfs.
- Certain elemental skills now last longer.
- Slightly increased damage of Spirit Wolfs.
- Increased damage of certain Elemental Tree skills.
- Greatly increased poison damage of Poison Creeper.
- Slightly increased duration of certain Elemental Tree skills.

Attention

- You can no longer equip items if you have a corpse. This prevents
a common problem where all equipped items pop up and drop on the ground
upon death.
- Added level requirement for joining nightmare and hell difficulty games.
Now, you must be level 25 or higher to join nightmare difficulty games
and level 50 or higher to join hell difficulty games.




Now i know this completely made-up but you have to admit there are some great ideas in there arent there?

Anyone got any favourites?

P.S i had to shorten this actually fromt he original amount of characters
