I need to find a ridiculously cheap ship/fitting that can suicide-kill macro-miners in hi-sec. We got around 2 mil in ore from one dude, then failed to wipe the evil 'roid killer's ship 25% structure is anooying. I guess a better fitted stabber could do it, but maybe a cheaper platform exists ?

Sure, the police will get to you, but as tonight's few hours of entertainment proved - it's really rather funny stealing from macro-miners.... when you get bored of bugging their macros (the dude trying to dump ore into emmon.....) blow tehm up

Any ideas kids ?

Apparently you can ram the miner and push him far enough away from his crate that the macro no longer works. You don't get a sec hit for doing that.

Tried that.. I knocked him about 20km with a 45km run up in a MWD fitted stabber. almost shat myself laughing but his macro was better than us

From rading up on this alot - it seems the firled the dude was running was a Kinetic hardener Taaii - as Kestrels with 4x assautl launchers could previously be used to alpha-strike them into the next century.

I'm going to fire up a alt account to hopefully trani some suicide gank skills... see where we end up. anyoen care to join me ?

I think macro mining is a bit of a strange name as it does not involve any macro's as such. It's just sitting in a big hauler with a mining laser on it for hours and hours and having to press a button once every 20 mins to change roids.

Great when doing the ironing or when something good's on telly (change roids in ad breaks).

If someone wants to really get at them mine the roid they're mining and few in immediate area.

not quite dude, that's more AFK mining i believe.

Mining to a can, dumping, warpin round belts, selecting new 'roids, returning to your can when some nob rams you away..... you need macros to do that.

I've always found the in game commands kinda lacking to even contemplate macroing. I presume these guys have some sort of program that sends commands into the EVE window ?

Its done via a 3 rd party proggy. I saw one which uses vectors to move the mouse pointer where defined vectors where part of the long macro to move, dock, mine etc.

Honestly, to run a macro with auto it or something wouldn't take that much in the way of commands. You miner would just sit there. The only macro would be a repeat script of check can/dump can and target nearest roid and turn on laser(s).
hauler be even easier since you can use an insta BM manually set up.

yeah, the macros are non-eve-specific ones generally, that just move the mouse and click in certain parts of the screen.
and macrominers are great fun to screw over, i'll see if my shadow char is still up to it.
