Now I just need to understand how this heal thing works, seems very hit and miss at the mo. And I'm a little concerned the summoner or engineer class with no direct control over pets could cause a problem in big fights if they have crowd control type things. But all in all right now I don't care, having a great fun clearing out tunnels and trying not to get eaten :)

P.S It doesn't have all the info filled in, but it's a start

Just like diablo, minionswise, they mince everything automatically. Still finding the game very easy as Summoner, not had one hard fight yet. Can see a future patch making everything harder to keep peoples interest, much as they did with LoD.

I guess need to complete it on normal, then up the skill level, though not quite sure how that works in multi-player.

My summoner is now level 4 and since I got the cargnor (something like that) pet, it's been easy going as well.

Still finding the choices hard in skills but just read something which helps (only one large pet out at a time), so I'll keep making the cargnor nice and strong and ignore the next larger demon (witch doctor I think, which I'm guessing from the text is aimed at healing the group more than being a tank)

Will though be making a blademaster for some more risky fights (I'm guessing)

i was finding things really easy too (ok, dying a fair ammount, but only when being silly) until end of act 2 / start of 3 qwhere thigns got much ahrder. it could jsut be the class though. Bm is... interesting once status effects start flying about. being perma-stunned, phaed, blocked in by mobs and on fire is funny. Getting the hang of it now, but 'pet' classes certainly seem to have it easier. ;)

It's immense fun though, so who cares?

The normal mode was pretty easy to complete. Once completed it unlocks the Elite and Hardcore flags for new characters. Finished it yesterday and rolled a new Elite character and the game is more challenging, don't have the nerve to create a hardcore character yet :)

Aye, it seems really silly, I wanted my tank out there mashing stuff with the witch doctor healing it but I guess it would have been a little unbalanced. Think I'm gonna focus on having all the healing stuff for me and the group, and two of each elemental then I'm not sure, either get the caragnor really tough or use the others (witch doctor I *think* looks like a group healer ?)

Does the setting thing mean I need to finish the game on easy with my summoner then start again on a harder level ? I can't just carry on with the summoner at a harder level (or does stuff to do just run out then)

Having alot of fun and I think with the little playtime I have this will keep me going for a fair while and mean I don't need to keep looking for my D2 CD's :)

hardcore though needs you to subscribe doesn't it ?

That *might* be my setup, I figure there will be enough healing the party on the left hand side of the skills to leave the witchdoctor and use what looks like a nuking one ...

Once you complete the game, you can carry on with the same character from the beginning again, by flagging that character as Nightmare on the login page. This means all the mobs start at level 30.

Yeah it gets a bit harder in act3, but not much. The trick is to find whatever type of weapon suits you then keep upgrading it and putting in the best mods.
Mods are level restricted though, so you can only keep going with the same ones for a while. I'm currently switching between a blue auto rifle (lvl 18 or so) which I've upgraded and modded for a 165 score on the front, and 2 fire based rocket pistols. Good thing with these are they are a little more accurate than machine pistols, have good splash and when you overload a mob with fire they blow up when they die so you don't get necro types spewing out maggots or zombies.

Pet classes need to be aware of something.

You can switch weapons to one/two that have summoning skills and summon your pet. Once you switch back to your main weapons you keep the pets as they were.

You can use this to either :

i) cast pets you have no skill points in at all, or

ii) boost the level of pets you have skill points in.

Skills are capped above the max points you can put into them; it was 4 above in beta, not sure if it has changed. eg If you have 10/10 in Spectral Elemental and have a weapon on switch with SPECTRAL ELEMENTAL 2 on it, you can switch to that weapon and cast and keep a lvl 12. There are level restrictions on caps. Pistols/ dual wield items are obviously best as you can use a couple with +2 or +3 each.

Saw my first item today with +1 to all skills. Its just like the first days of Diablo all over again.
