Thats a big bit of news. Ah, the decline of Manchester United. It's such a shame. Ever since Fergie got rid of Beckham its all gone tits up. Fantastic stuff

Word is Keane and Taggart had a major row at Carrington this morning. Keane was stripped of the captaincy, soon after storming out for good.


If they dont get Ballack they will struggle for years.

I don't think Man United will "struggle" mate, not with Ronaldo, Rooney (no side with that chav football marvel will struggle), Ferdinand, Heinze, Van Nilsterooy etc in their ranks but they need some more quality and to get rid of some of the chaff. I would sell:

Fletcher
O'Shea
Saha
Smith
Silvestre

and bring it some decent players. Ballack maybe or, to be honest, Carrick from Spurs, another attacking central midfielder or right winger, another striker (why didn't they buy Owen?) and another quality centre half and left back (possibly Bridge).

Agree with all that mate, but they have next to nothing in the centre midfield department - and thats the hardest part of the team to get right. They've bought nearly a dozen players over the last six years and none of them have come close.

Theres a huge amount resting on Scholes now; when he plays they look decent, when he doesnt they look crap. He has massive asthma problems too and always plays better at this time of year than later in the season.


Interesting call on Carrick; he just might be up there with the best if he keeps improving the way he has. Possibly Graveson could do the job, but if they really want to be challenging they need Ballack.


The thing I dont understand is for the last few years they have bought forward after forward without filling other positions. They need not only to replace Keane, but Scholes and Giggs in the immediate future - thats without thinking about back up. They fell hugely fortunate in getting Van der Saar but he hasnt got long left so they still need a top goalie. And lets not forget they are now �400million in debt.

Carrick is still very young mate which is why I mentioned him. They need someone around 23 or 24 and preferably Irish or English and understands the commitment needed to succeed at a club like Man U. Keane arrived at Man U at 23. Foreign players are all well and good but who have been the outstanding central midfielders in the Premiership? Gerrard, Lampard, Keane, Scholes, Robson, Ince ... and Vieira being the only real exception. Foreign imports don't mix it as well I'm afraid.

Keane got sacked however you package it. They waited enough time after he talked bollocks on MUTV to let it settle down.

Ferguson was talking on Monday about Keane being back in training and expected him to be ready to play in two weeks. It was obviously another further incident that caused him to leave - nowt to do with the pulled MUTV interview.

Keane has got away with absolute murder for the last two years, no other player or member of staff would have been left to stay at the club (he was actually contributing to the team then). I believe the MUTV interview was the final straw for fergie. Why keep a bitter player at the club whos past his sell by date?

Let it settle down, force him to go and spin some tale about both parties agreed the spilt. You really think fergie would tell everyone his intentions to the press?

Keane has publicly criticised the team before; usually with his Managers blessing. I doubt it was just that which contributed - something else must have happened.
