Mining blues

Ok so I was mining yesturday with 3 mining drones and 3 mining lasers running. Whilst my cargo hauler account was dropping stuff off at the station, some guy pops up and steals from my container and a big fight ensues (well not that big as I've only got 1 small launcher to take care of silly rats). I think the 15 min timer expires as he can't kill me nor me him, and boom concord kick my ass for attacking him.

What I want to know is 1)can I use the secure containers to stop plebs grabbin my stuff when I'm mining, and 2) can I put a secure container back in my hold and move to a different area of the belt.

(maybe a 3) what containers do u recomend as they seem to not hold a lot and weigh a ton).

Astred/Renadin.

:edit: ps eve GM's don't seem to give a damn about this s***t

Secure containers need to be teathered/locked in place to be properly secure, one just floating can just be scooped as normal. Once to teather them you enter the password and hey presto, you can as I understand then enter the password and unteather to move them.

P.S GM's don't care as it's a mechanic they don't discourage, you need to either kill the person for stealing from you or use secure cans, seemed to be there feedback.

Make sure they always fire first. If there aren't any mates about chat to someone on local and see if you can pay them to come and help in the event of attack.

Also keep your eye on local and if someone enters the system who looks dodgy then recall your drones and pick up any cargo and get ready to warp out.

GM's wont do much about stuff most MMO's go nuts over. Your allowed to scam on Escrow, grief, steal, spy etc etc. Some guy scammed 700 billion ISK :)

Just dont use RL money to scam or exploit. GM's will come after you then.

Macro miners in 0.9 and 1.0 fields....get a shuttle or something and keep ramming thm till they move too far from the can. Thats a griefing method welcomed across EVE heh

Another cunning idea is to "buff" the rats as they attack the miners, so that they win :)

you don't get flagged that way, but it only works in space where the rats are tuff enough to cause problems when boosted.
