Mining ships

Anyone know what the best low level mining ship would be? I have been using the first frigate as it has more cargo space than the other two. I cant upgrade to an Industrial ship (bestower) because one of the skills needed is not available to trial players (I,ts the ship I see most miners using). So am I best sticking to the frigate or is there something better?

Bantam has the bonuses, Probe has the cargo space.

Cull m8 I tried buying a mining ship in my trial and it said I couldn't because I hadn't subscibed

Yeah, Im using a Tormentor Frigate to mine and a Punisher to do missions and bounty hunt. I have just been given a mission that needs 150 cargo space - The Punisher only has 138. I cant do it with the Tormentor as it has 2 mining lasers and 3 cargo upgrades. The Punisher is shielded up and has upgraded lasers and can kill the rebels no probs but cant get the cargo back to the agent - looks like im just going to have to fail it.

I am really enjoying this atm, got 11 days trial left. Im hoping it lets me buy the next ships up from Frigate.

Im playing as Verbeena Palaeovisca and my ship is called Hawk of May, if anyone wants to give me a shout out

You could just fly in with your punisher, kill everything, fly back to station and pick up your other ship and grab the stuff, or take two trips worth with your punisher? Or maybe you cant *shrug* I dont know much.

As long as you don;t complete the mission (Which you can't do, as you haven't hauled all the cargo) you can keep warping into and out of the same deadsapce pocket via the Acceleration gates.
