Prior to patch 2.4 I was able to run both the US and UK versions of WOW on the same PC by renaming the directiories.
However with the recent patch I am now not able to patch the US version, following from a successful patching of the UK version.
The Blizz patcher for the US version downloads the patch but will not apply it. This is due to the patcher locating the wow.exe in the UK WOW directory rather than the US WOW directory, and as this is the current 2.4 version, states "that this version is up to date so bog off".
So to my question, is it possible to somehow re-direct the US patcher to look into the US WOW directory rather than the UK directory?
I have renamed the UK wow.exe in the hope that the US patcher will try and find the correct version of WOW in the US directory, but it just laughs in my face and states that it is unable to locate wow.exe...in the UK directory.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the patcher has been tweaked to stop peeps having both UK and US versions on the same PC.
The only solution I can see is to have one version on the PC.
