I know Soundblaster lives cards have this problem with VIA chipset, but does anyone know if the Audigy cards do too?

Probably. From my experience, they're just as bad as Live!s are for problems.

Silly Creative, they used to do good cards, you'd've thought they'd learn from the Live! fiasco...

Surely its VIA that should have learnt, that chipset seems to have problems with everything these days.

Nope, the majority of problems with the Live! series are down to Creative NOT sticking to the PCI2.0/2.1(I forget which is the standard) driver standard. The fools.

VIA don't help tho ;]

funnny innit.

I ripped out my live after **** loads of lockup, some times 2 or 3 in as many reboots.

Put in a hercules, and some extra ram and you know what - pc aint locked up in over a month. Fecking live cards !

It's a VIA/Creative cockup combo. My Live works perfectly on my Tiger MP, which uses an AMD chipset. When I upgraded I avoided VIA on purpose, and couldn't go Intel on principle

The live doesn't like sharing an IRQ on any chipset but on VIA it really messes things up.
