Lo all,

Hopefully someone will read this seldom used forum!

I'm starting a PBeM campaign up. It should run for about a year.

The rules are mainly the Middle Earth Roleplaying System with some Rolemaster spell lists and crit tables thrown in. If you don't have the rules I can do that bit for you.

Thanks for replies. Got 4 players now. When I ran this the first time (about 7 - 8 years ago!) I had 12 players but I'll aim to keep that number lower this time!

Don't worry if you don't have the rules. Just let me know about character background, any sub plots the character may have and skills/spells/weapons you'd like to use.

The characters will come in at level 4.

Merp is a simplified version of rollmaster.

Rollmaster however is the l337 G0d of tables, charts and dice rolling. Its a good system but waaaay to complex to sensibly tabletop with. Ive run it before and had a battle with 4 characters and a similar number of mobs take 3 hours to run @ the table.

Dnd 3.5 - D20 4 teh w1n! ;0)

The other problem is when merly says - can i be a wizard. Rolemaster has around 20 - 25 professions dedicated to spell casting ;0) m,uwhahahahahahaha

This gives you a rough idea but i'll break it down as it's a very simple system (MERP that is, RM can get a bit too clunky)

Stats:

ST - Strength
AG - Agility
CO - Constitution
IG - Intelligence
IT - Intuition
PR - Presence
AP - Appearance

Professions:

Warrior
Mage
Animist
Scout
Ranger
Bard
Rogue
War monk
Monk
Mentalist
Conjurer

Races (each one gets different points in starting skills, called ranks):

Hobbit
Dwarf
Umli (Half Dwarf)
Noldor Elf (High Elf)
Sindar Elf (Sea Elf)
Silvan Elf (Wood elf)
Half-elf
Dunedain (High Man) (I include Black Numenoreans and Corsairs in this caregory)
Man - Wose (wild man), Beornings (some shape shift), Dorwindrim, Dunlendings/Hillmen, Easterlings, Haradrim, Lossoth, Rohirrim, Rural men, Urban men, Variags, Woodmen

Skills:

Armour - No armour (AG), Soft leather (AG), Rigid leather (AG), Chain (ST), Plate (ST)

** I use all RM 20 Armour classes

Weapons - 1 Handed Edged (ST), 1 handed concussion (ST), 2 handed (ST), thrown (AG), missile (AG), pole arms (ST)

General skills - Climb (AG), Ride (IT), Swim (AG), Track (IG)

Subterfuge skills - Ambush, Stalk/Hide (PR), Pick lock (IG), Disarm Trap (IT)

Magic Skills - Read Runes (IG), Use Items (IT), Directed Spells (AG)

Misc skills - Body Devel (CO)(hits), Perception (IT)

As for Spells I use the RM ones. There are too many to list here at the moment.

Haven't bought anything knew for MERP/RM in ages. Just took a quick look at the Firearms add-on you're talking about Rav and, erm, no way!
