Ive been fairing badly against Eldar and tau recently especially since i put half my forces on a foot slog across the board. So ive come up with this. Thoughts?

i'm confused by the concept of an army having trouble with Tau :/

anyway. i'd be tempted to take some biovores, as they absolutely massacre eldar/tau troops. other than that, cant really help you as i dont play tau, eldar, or nids very often :p

My Only Fear for you would be your spores turn on up and an bad order for you.

I've seen a Venomthorpte acts like a great cover shield for a big unit.

The problem with the Eldar for me has been

Runes of Warding
Mass shooting taking out my troops. Once the Stealers get onto the table they generally rip everything up but ive had problems with Harlequins and Farseer council...

Tau : the last time i played Tau we drew, though the game still had a turn or two to run and it was shifting in my favour... So i supposed i have more issues with Eldar.

Biovores: I have 1.
Venomthrope : I have 1.

The order isnt too important. With the HT giving +1 to reserve rolls and the lictor giving a further +1 to reserve rolls i can pretty much guarantee everything comes on turn 2 or 3 at the latest, and if i play things right within 6inch of the lictor guaranteeing no issues with Deepstriking.

Entire Deep striking / outflanking army - including Shrikes and Hive tyrant

Not sure how this will fair but what do people think?

Edit: I note i have a pair of hive guard in the list. so its not entirely a deep strike / Reserve list unless i keep them as reserve as well.

Since playing a few games with my Daemon army i've really taken to deep striking armies, things can go horribly wrong for you if you get some bad luck on the reserve rolls and scatter dice but if things go your way you can really mess up up opponents game plan (especially if they aren't used to deep striking armies).

Looking at the list I think the only things you might want to consider would be including a lictor for the +1 to reserve rolls ( I believe this stacks with the Hive Commander ability) and the no scatter rule if the unit coming in from reserve arrives within 6 inches of the Lictor.

Second thing to consider, and this is only if your facing someone with a lot of mechanised units on the table, would be the amount of anti tank you have, you got some tank killers in the list but i'm not sure they'll be enough against a mech heavy list.

Though i do think i'll steal your list for my next set of games :)

One question though... what do you use to represent the Mycetic spores?

For the spores i have a couple of the plasma hatcher eggs. i need a couple more though.

Tank busters. ironically i can normally pop a raider with a genestealer brood. The doom can cataclysm the Raider or the hive guard can go for 6 and glance and of course if im in realy trouble both the Fex and the Hive tyrant can go and batter the damn thing.

The lictor : I have another version of the list with a Deathleaper in. Note though the Roll only applied on Turn after the lictor arrives. im wondering if the HT should stay on the board at turn 1 to grant the +1 reserve roll.

Didnt try the list out tonight, too tired to really thing so ran some Wings of War instead, will give it a bashing next week i think.

Yeah. This is true :) Still it was only a 2 day business trip to the Red light district of Amsterdam so not much missed (bar Syphillis)
