Can't finish Diablo off

I'm rushing a char through the lvl's so I can make games with him on my 2nd PC to open up the Pindle portal .

I'm having a problem in that he makes a game which my Ama joins and joins his group . The Ama then clears the mobs . My low char then opens the seals while the Ama kills everything off . Diablo spawns and , after a few Benny Hill deaths , is killed . At this point the msg on the low chars quest journal changes to the 'can't complete in this game' one .

What am I doing wrong ? Does he actually have to land a hit on Diablo to be allowed into the 5th Act ? I didn't have this problem in Normal or Nitemare and the other 2 quests went fine .

As you clear the Chaos sanctuary you will find a couple of "corners" between the Grand vizier and Lord DeSeis, they stick out almost to the "circle" of flame that Diablo appears in,IF you stand safely in one of these corners with your low level char, and then kill D with your ama (making sure he does not leave the circle) then you should get the quest straight away.

Ahh . So , he has to be within a screens length of Diablo to get the kill ? I don't remember him being that close on the other 2 difficulties . Cheers chaps , I'll try that tonight .
