First level 4 mission...

Darn me, this was scary...

Mission: Massive Attack.

I am unable to say exactly what resists I need because there are 3 versionf of them requiring 2 different fittings. I take the fitting for 2 of them, but of course, the mission is the third version.

Note to self: Turn on Shield Booster earlier, not when you realise most of your shields are already gone. Saves a lot of tension, panic and stress.

Other than that, it went well. Took me about 1 hour of playing it safe. Jumping in, aligning on escape vector, killing frigates first then the rest. Darn me, Battleships die slowly... I found out my small drones didn't work too well. Damage seemed fairly low and they died pretty fast, even though I only released them after I seemd to have aggro (judging from all the incoming damage). Medium Drones worked much better, yay to Hobgoblins.

Currently harvesting the leftovers. Loot doesn't seem too impressive, but I got 6 mill worth of bounties and 2 mill worth of mission reward. Plus whatever the salvage and loot is worth.

***EDIT: I also got about 5 mill worth of loot and salvage, so it was a good go, IMO. ***

Good first mission. Let's hope I get used to this soon so I can do the missions in a more relaxed state.

I'm on tenterhooks scanning in 0.8 in case a nasty man comes and kills me Magnate, mate. I cant imagine how scary stuff is at that level.

In the mission description from your journal it will tell you what faction you are fighting against. There'll be an icon for whichever pirate faction is the target - if there's no icon then it's either rogue drones or mercenaries (both of which do all damage types).

Also the best way to tell if you have aggro is to watch the status of stuff on your overview - all blinking red or yellow boxes = safe to deploy drones. You shouldn't ever lose drones in PvE unless you get disconnected somehow.

If i recall. inside the second room of Massive Attack there are 2 scrambling sly fridates which will scram you, and pop your drones.

Second Level 4 mission worked nicely, too. Took 80 minutes to complete, 30 minutes to salvage and 15 minutes to sell all the crap.

Mission reward was 13.5 mill in cash, loot was 11 mill. I like this so far. Can't say the missions are very fast, but I can live with that.

Protip for selling stuff:

Things are worth more if you have a lot of them.

It's worth buying a bunch of Giant Storage Containers and use them to sort loot. One for salvage, one for common drops like guns or whatever and one for valuable stuff you want to keep separate from everything else until you have enough free sell orders to list it.

People buying salvage don't want to buy small quantities all over the place, they want to buy a big pile of it at once and will pay a bit more for the convenience of being able to do that. Likewise people buying stuff for a new ship want to be able to buy everything in one go and you can make money off their reluctance to travel all over - it's a laziness tax straight into your wallet. Stash the stuff until you have decent sized stacks of it and then put it up as a sell order above the prevailing market price. It'll sell and you'll get extra money for not very much effort.

Get Trade and Retail skills up to about 4 each so you can have a good number of open market orders at the same time and you'll be making money even when you're not logged on. Market trading is the real secret to making money in Eve, missions, inventing etc are all just a small part of your total income.

First time I did Angels Extra I think it took me 3-4 hours. I sucked but made 25-30mill!
