Follower question...

I have a quick question regarding choice of followers for my monk. I feel my monks surviveability and damage output was fairly low before I started upgrading on the AH, so I chose the Templar and skilled him for healing. That means his damage output is abyssmal, but he has a lot of HP.

Now that I managed to get a few items for the monk, he has not had too many problems staying alive anymore (still level 24 and in Act 2, btw), so I am wondering whether it would be a good choice to replace the templar with one of the other followers. I keep hearing the Enchantress is good for a monk. Does anybody have any advice for me?

enchantress is good for everyone, tbh. the healing from templar is fairly irrelevant as you gear up past it, but the CC from the enchantress is always good. also, you wont be sharing gear drops with her.

note that damage output is terrible for any of them, really.

Echantress is good for monk, the armour and attack speed buff are all nice with some cc.

I am not sharing gear with the Templar, either. He is Strength based, I am Dexterity based. Right now I have some decent gear for the Templar, but nothing whatsoever for the Enchantress. I will have to get some gear for her and then switch. I would just buy something from the AH, but I am down to 8000 Gold, so she will have to wait a bit, I am afraid.

My Enchantress often changed my character into a chicken. I can't decide if that's a reason to get the Enchantress or to avoid her...

Actually I think this was a bug that may now have been fixed. Shame on you Blizzard!

Has anybody used the Rogue? Most of the posts I saw talked about the Enchantress or the Templar, almost never about the Rogue.

I used the rogue for a while, just for the funny banter, especially between him and Leah. Can't say he was any better or worse than any of the others.

I think the problem is the rogue just supplies damage - and never enough of it to come close to what you can do yourself

I used him with my DH for a bit, just went for having two ranged to see how they got on. He has a 'blind' skill that was handy for escaping mobs, atm am using the Templar for his healing/knockback with the DH and Enchantress with my Barb.

I use the Enchantress with my Barb for everything except bosses. She has a knockback and stun, but is hopeless against bosses where the templar can heal me.

I like the +3 to critical hits on the rogue

I mainly use the Enchantress on my barb. The Scoudrel can be specced for a more CC role IIRC, though i could be wrong about this.

Generally though - Enchantress is great.
