Ork sprew trade

Just incase there are other orky types out there. I recently got a loota/burna box thinking from the box art mainly I guess I could build from it either 5 lootas or 5 burnas, not the case you can build 4 lootas or 4 burnas and have a spare model which seems designed to make a burna mek (might use him to make a mek with KFF not sure yet).

But I'm only trying to make lootas so I have the complete sprew of burna parts, so 4 burna's, 4 burna fuel tanks, 4 burna shoulder/back bits, 4 left arm of the burnas, 4 heads and one bit, kind of head size I've no idea what it is. Anyone interested in a straight trade of the complete burna sprew for a complete loota sprew so I can make 4 more lootas for my collection, and just use the legs and bodies I have left spare from other models at the moment ?

Couple of things I've learnt.

- It is spelt Sprue not sprew
- Bits places are a total rip off, I'm after ideally 6 more loota guns, which would come in at �24, which would get me just the guns, no bases/legs/bodies/heads. Or I could spend �22 and get 2 complete loota/burna kits to create 8 more lootas and have 3 spare burna sprue's
- Grotzooka choice is an expensive one, I can't find any place in the UK actually stocking grotzooka's, and the one I could find which had it at least listed had it at �5, so �10 to turn my 2 existing kans into grotzooka's, or �43 to have 9 kans, 3 with grotzookas, 3 with flamers, 3 with rockets or big shootas.
- I'm gonna need to get into scratch building, not so much for the lootas which I'll buy, but for the grotzooka's.
- KillaKans exhaust I need to pay more attention too, I built a second one this morning before work and thought I was cutting it from the sprue, but was actually cutting off abit of the model, so had to bodge some bits but oddly I prefer the look of the bodge than what it would have been, my first micro scratch build and it's nice and orky :)

I think if no-one is interesting in the burna spue I'm gonna cut the bits off and try putting them on e-bay to see what happens, maybe do this as a way to fund other bits I need

Problem is your likely ordering bits that people want and so there is a high demand for.

Whats odd in your pricing:

Loota body, legs and head : 95p
Deffgun : �1.50 including both arms

cost per Loota: 2.45 but no base.

So 5 would cost you around �13 ex P&P. (Bits and kits UK)

The grotzooka though is still expensive.

You're best bet is usually going to be asking around at clubs/forums.

I for instance needed a pile of multi meltas and got them from friends as no bugger else uses em (I get re-rolls to hit though).

Sadly people often want something in return and unless you have quite a bits pile (and believe me you are probably already started on one) its often difficult to come to an agreement.

Its also quite common for GW to only put a small number of the most preferred parts into a multi part set, there reasoning for this no doubt being bean counter instigated. Standard arines dreadnought comes with a multi melta as a default weapon. Guess whats no included in the box set? You got it, the multi melta.

It's bitz box I've been looking at, mainly because they have a much better stock of ork parts.

The prices of loota's was based off ebay at �4 for gun, other arm, backpack and the bolt on side bit (though I do now see that price was overly high, though I guess it was at least in stock). Bits and kits have one deffgun in stock only, looking now at bitz box the guns/other arm/back bits are �1.50, then I think �0.30 for the bolt on side weapon (which is cheeky). There though I could get 2x complete deffguns for �3.60 so it's less of a rip off, though it does rely on stock and there labelling (for example they only don't sell the side weapon for one of the deffguns for some reason.

Looking at it though I'm gonna buy more lootas, get grotzooka's from a bits place, and then try selling bits on e-bay to help recoup some money, either a complete sprue, or bits cut from it (where I guess you can make more money).

Even so though �13 for 5 loota's (without bases), when for �10.80 you get 4 lootas with bases, one mek, and alot of burna parts I still think I'll only goto bits places for one or two bits, if it's half a kit I think I'm better off getting a whole kit and making my large bits collection even bigger

well yeah, bitz sites arnt really designed for making entire models from, they're for people going 'hmm, my devestator squad needs 1 more plasma cannon guy, and i have this tactical bloke with no arms going spare.'
