I've never understood why, if you owned FIFA 04, you'd buy FIFA 05. Surely you'd have to be a total idiot?
Ent, the DS isn't a console mate. The Gamecube had dire sales because of its marketing and its lack of quality 3rd party games. Nintendo just re-hashed a load of old SNES and N64 games and expected the console to sell on the back of the "Mario", "Zelda", etc, brand.
I'm willing to wager that once again, Nintendo is 3rd place in the marketplace with the poorest selection of software available and disappointing sales. They need to do something different; the Nintendo "brand" of games simply does not have the clout anymore to shift mega numbers of boxes. They need 3rd party developers on board and producing for it, just like they will for the PS3 and XBox 360. They also need some 3rd party killer titles that are "exclusive". The Nintendo exclusive games just don't have wide enough appeal. They need a GTA 3 or a Halo, etc. If they do that, then they have a chance but even then, they've already shot themselves in the foot in the console market with the Gamecube and its hard to repair a tarnished brand image.
Nintendos hand held dominance is not in dispute but as I said, this is a console.
The 360 is first, so it has an advantage. The PS3 will sell becuase the PS2 was so good and its graphically superior to the 360. The Nintendo? Well...... it might have some nice games and great graphics but it doesn't really have a significant console brand to build on so its already facing an uphill struggle.
Obviously you buy what you want but from a consumers perspective based on the choice of games and the potential support from the gaming market, its the most risky by far.
