Plate fitted Ruptures don't seem ideal for small gang warfare. They take ages to turn, accelerate, warp, anything. Wherever we went, I was the last to arrive. On at least one occasion a ship got away because I could not get into web range quickly enough, despite using MWD2. Considering how short our fights lasted, I am beginning to think I should have used the the shield fit. If I am using short range weaponry, slowing down ship and turnrate with huge armour is probably not quite ideal. Of course, that is probably my opinion because nobody was really shooting at me. If I had needed all that armour, I would probably have different feelings. Also makes me wonder whether I should try a long range fit and ignore warp scrambling and webbing, especially as I only ever got into range of my ACs once. By the time I had targeted, chosen orbit, turned on MWD, opened fire, deployed drones, told them to attack and was prepared to warp scramble and web the fights were already over. If I tried to warp scramble and web they died before I got the drones out. Since I seem to have a problem with having too many options, I might have to cut down on options and just go damage.
My overview updated weirdly. Sometimes I saw a hostile show up only to hear on voice "Damn, he got away", while I was still able to see it on my overview for another 5 seconds. Is there any way to speed up the reaction time of the overview? My current setup of name, velocity, ship type, range and icon doesn't seem to be ideal for pvp. Will have to take a look at finding a good pvp one. Are there any suggestions?
It is darn hard to actually find a fight when you are looking for one. I was really surprised when that 5-6 person gang of pirates we attacked fled instead of trying to kick our butts. I didn't really see what kind of ships they were fielding, but it seemed like an even fight going by the numbers.
It is problematic to understand everybody in voice. Not only do some english speaking people have very interesting accents (probably me included), but the different sound levels are problematic, especially when you have 2 people chatting and 1 person giving commands. ;-) Is there any way to ensure everybody has the same sound level?
In the same vein, for my voice chat it does not seem to matter whether I use microphone and loudspeakers or microphone and headphones. Every time I speak at the same time as someone else, everybody gets a horrible feedback noise. I have tried to get rid of that for ages, no luck. Do we have any tech geniuses here that can help me sort that out with my onboard realtek sound?
Now that I am signed up for faction warfare, does anybody have any idea how likely I am to get attacked while missioning in Auvergne? I was told that it was very hard to track down people that are missioning, so it is unlikely that I will get jumped. Is that correct?
