from football-rumours.com

Dirk Kuyt is a target of Zenit St. Petersberg. Advocaat sees him as an ideal replacement for Arshavin and has been told to double his 5 million euro offer to land his man. Rafa has cooled his interest in David Silva amid concerns of his build, and was not impressed with him during Euro2008, he will test CSKA with an offer for Yuri Zherkov of around 10 million euro. Terms have been agreed for Villa for Barry, however they want him to formally hand in a transfer request to forfeit his cut of the transfer fee

The club will announce the double signing of highly rated Napoli youngsters Vito Spatafore and Furio Giunta this week
Both players are 15, Spatafore is a wideman also likes to operate in the hole, and Giunta is a goalkeeper

I can confirm from having watched him myself that Spatafore is superb in in the hole.

Huh? He was one of the best midfielders in the competition, better than Iniesta and Xavi. I feel that should read Rafa interest has cooled due to him costing to much.

You miserably failed to spot the reference to the two Sopranos characters, one of whom is a closet homosexual :(

Agree about Silva. The Keane link is genuine; Gerrard and Keane share the same agent. I'd be made up if we bought Keane and Barry.

Never watched the Soptranos.

Robbie Keane works better with a tall striker, like crouch who you are selling. Can't see him working well with Torres.

:p

Keane is vastly underrated. On the Spurs forums they all say he is the one player in their squad they would be genuinely gutted to lose. The guy has formed successful partnerships with every decent front man he has every played with. Possibly the best player in the Prem outside of the top four. Wasn't he the Prems top scorer a couple of seasons ago, though theres loads more to his game than goals.

While I agree (i'd also throw Arteta of Everton into the best player outside the top 4). I can't really see why Spurs would sell him - I presume Berbetov is leaving and Defoe has already gone, so that leaves Darren Bent (unless they've signed anyone?). Also would he really want to go? Spurs had a weird season last season, but are probably still the most likely team outside the top 4 to break into it and they seem to have more money available than Liverpool right now.

Villa have really nailed Liverpool over Barry. Good on them for not backing down, 17 million + Finnan is a very good deal plus they made Liverpool look like penny pitching tapup merchants and Barry has lost all his goodwill with Villa and England fans by whining to the tabloids like some sort of Arsenal player.

Blatter and his modern day slavery comment "We must protect the player" he says. Sign me up for that kind of slavery, 120k a week to stay fit and play footy. They're are well paid contractually obliged employees.

Stupid is as stupid does
Blatter talks the greatest load of shite ever.
Ronaldo is an annoying selfish petulant cockweasel.
Arshavin has an amusing name.
Flight has been watching odd foreigners playing about "in the hole".

Keane to Liverpool should be sorted by this weekend.

Its all done, fee and personal terms agreed. None of the papers or the bookies have got hold of it yet, but it can only be a couple of hours off.

Trust me and get a tenner on it; the bookies are offering 7-1 on him being first of the big name movers.

The Club can announce that it has reached agreement with Liverpool FC for the transfer of Robbie Keane.

Speaking on the announcement of the transfer, Chairman Daniel Levy said: "I was incredibly disappointed when I first heard, not only that Liverpool had been working behind the scenes to bring Robbie to Anfield, but that Robbie himself wanted to go and he submitted a transfer request to this effect.

"I have already made my opinion clear on the nature of this transaction. I don't regard it as a transfer deal - that is something which happens between two clubs when they both agree to trade - this is very much an enforced sale, for which we have agreed a sum of 19m as compensation plus a potential further 1.3m in additional compensation."

Liverpool FC has also acknowledged that the way its website reported comments of its manager, which were widely covered by the media, was inappropriate and in light of that acknowledgement has apologised and agreed to make a donation to our Club's main charity, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. Tottenham Hotspur has therefore agreed not to pursue its official complaint to the Premier League.

I heard a week ago the agreed price, so I'm not sure what this BS is from Levy. Maybe something he wanted to happen to appease the Spurs fans ?

Keane for me is exactly what LFC needs, a link man as second striker behind the great Fernando. Good though Barry is, he's far too costly - perhaps one option is to play Aurelio or Babel if necessary down the left, linking with Dossena (or Insua if he plays). Down the right, Kuyt is fine - not a winger which we "need" - I am not convinced we do actually since Kuyt moves about a lot, can pass and his crossing is not at all bad. More like Ray Houghton was in the glory days.
Watch out for some of the reserves to get a few games this season, there are a few very very good kids (Pacheco, Nemeth, Darby, Spearing to name but 4).

Ronaldo, Barry, Keane the entire Arsenal first team all speculation and very little actual transfers happening. The new season can't start soon enough.
