No CUK guild blues

Well seeing as no one else is making one I'll setup a cuk guild.

Berey I choose you for HQ location.

And for a name.... well I was thinking of

KUC Administration

(CUK backwards :p).

What do you guys think ?

I don't know what office charges are so may put tax rate at 2% that should cover it hopfully. I'll set this up tonight so shout any objections before then plz.

GTE Corp was the old CUK corp in Eve however that's now been stolen by Taaii and me as an invention/production outfit.

I know there are a fair number of CUKers in game nowadays but I strongly recommend that you join player corps (i.e. ones that are run by and contain other players). Playing Eve solo is missing 95% of the game and there aren't enough CUKers to do anything useful as a group. Use the CUK channel for chatter while you play and questions etc but you'll find the game is a whole lot better when you're playing alongside other people and not just in a chat channel with them.

Even if you're just running missions most of the time, you'll benefit from being in an active corp and you'll have the opportunity for small scale PvP skirmishes or mining ops from time to time as well as other corp activities that you won't get in an NPC corp or in a 5 man CUK corp.

First stupid question of the day: Where is Berey? In what Empire?

As I mentioned yesterday, I am unable to enter Caldari or Amarr space as those two lovely empires will shoot me down on sight.

As far as a name goes, why administration? Are you planning to administer anything with the corp? ;) Either way, I have always been partial to "United Kingdoms", as that was the name of our EQ contingent and it really works for most types of games.

I for one would be up for joining the corp, as I have played with the same thoughts myself. I am not sure when I will lose interest in pve and move on to pvp.. :)

I'm pretty sure he means Bereye which is in Gallente space (Everyshore).

Once again, I'd suggest joining an active player corp. Forming a CUK corp for the 5-6 of you in game routinely will provide almost nothing that the existing chat channel doesn't already do other than tax reduction (although that's offset by the fact that you're paying rent on at least one office).

Remember that a lot of the guys who idle in CUK are in other corps already (Teadaze, me, Taaii, Shalam etc) so the numbers in the CUK channel aren't an indication of the numbers for your new corp.

Req, we know. At most the new Corp will probably consist of Aciiid, me, Gottaa and Cull. Probably less if Gottaa has quit - haven't seen him online in a bit, so I am not sure if he is still playing. So worst case it will be Aciiid and me.

We won't really lose anything from being in a corp by ourselves. To be fair, we won't gain much except for lower taxes, either. But it is worth a try. If it does not work out for us, we can always join other Corps. But the fact that none of us has, means that everybody has some problems with joining a corp. I know what they are for me. I am uncomfortable joining people I do not know. And the one game mechanic that usually lets you meet new people, pickup groups, won't ever happen in this game because most of Eve operates on a principle of maximum paranoia and won't group with people they don't know for fear of being shot.

Either way, we are trying out a new part of the game. If it didn't work for you, fair enough. But it might work for us. If it doesn't, you are welcome to tell us "I told you so!". :)

Also if you want to purse this you'd be better joining Seidh which me, Judican and Tsong are part of. Its in Siyi. Its as Req says though, no point in doing a CUK only guild if you expect to get the best from the game, and since Seidh is there you might as well come over and join it as it would be the same as forming the CUK one, but with less outgoing since we already have the hq and POS running.

I'm very tempted to restart... It seems CVA are finally going down - and i want to be there when the Amarr scum die...

Req is right though - The larger Corp/alliance you join, the more there is going on.

I do play, but the "casual" words are a little larger at the mo, while making dents in the new house :) Also my iPhone development is slowly making moves again and I'm trying to balance the little free time I have between EvE, iPhone, fixing people's computers. I'm really enjoying EvE when I can make it on, but it's fairly random when I will be on.

As for a corporation I'll basically follow whatever Aciid and Dara do, be that joining Seidh or making a new one, assuming Seidh are happy to accept my rather casual and random playtimes.

The point I'm making is that it doesn't help at all with the problem you are facing (that you can't/won't easily join a busier corp).

What is the actual purpose of your corp? If it's to give you a place to chat to friends while you run missions then you already have the CUK channel for that.

If you want to avoid the 11% tax rate then be aware that you may end up spending a lot more than the amount you'd save in taxes on office rental (in Fricoure, where I am, an office runs 80m a month).

There are reasons for having a small corp but mostly they are logistical games mechanics related ones. GTE Corp exists mostly to operate a POS for example as only player corps can anchor them.

This is how you join a corp. Don't advertise on the Eve-forums because you'll either get scammed or get invited by the kind of corp that invites anyone who asks. Instead get to know people in game - try going on some of the Agony PvP courses with Teadaze for example - and chat to people. Take part in the conversations in Local even, whatever it takes to get socialising with other players. Every corp I've been in so far has been because I already knew players in it and not because I saw a GSC with their name on it floating near a stargate. If there are other gaming forums you read that have Eve players in them, take part in those discussions, get to know the guys ingame and socialise. Decent corps won't invite people they don't know, not through paranoia but because they want to know in advance that the person they are inviting is someone they'll want to socialise with.

the main purpose of the corp will be to dodge the now 11% tax rate on everything we do. the newbie corp is jsut full of the same old spam

'I've come back to eve and forgotten everything... help'

I don't trust anyone in the newbie corp so don't see any point in being in one. Joining GTE to have a lower tax rate is an acceptable solution, i'm not interested in research and dev for now at least.

I don't want to waste a ton of cash in a newbie corp with people i don't want to group with as don't trust them as far as I can throw them and i could use the cash to get to level 4's and then i'll see about joining another corp (prefferably a social one more than power gamer one) after i've made some cash and sorted out my skills etc etc (looks like a month or so at least).

ps.

Bereye is in gallante space, and is pretty near to the main jumpgate to caldari space. If it's going to cost 80mil a month to rent an office then we'll either look elseware or have it with no office and invite only if that's what it takes. CUK chat is awesome, newbie corp chat is just spam.

Aciid - all corps have to have an office, it's part of how the entire model functions.

Each station with offices has N of them free, and the price goes up and down depending on the demand.

It seems like the majority of your issues can be solved by right clicking on the 'Corp' chat tab, selecting 'Blink Off' and then ignoring the fact that the tab even exists after that.

There are 4 of us in it plus alts. We are based in Amar space but theres no reason you cannot just come over for membership then go back to to the Caldari/Gallente space etc

As for getting in just ask Judican next time hes around - its his corp and is only open to CUK people :) (oh and 5% tax)

You guys are fully welcome to join GTE. It offers the tax dodge that is all. If you want to make your own corp to see what director roles etc are like, go for it.

The GTE corp isnt a corp where you will get regular PVP or whatever. Its just a convenient tax dodge.

One thing to bear in mind, if me or req need to anchor another PoS(s) i will have to temporary kick you to raise the corps standing.

You don't need to go to an office any more to join a corp, you can do it from anywhere (as long as you are docked). There's an 'apply to join' button in the corp info window.

Does joining a corp affect your general factions ? i.e will I suddenly be out of favour with the person I run missions for ?

Been there, done that, 11% tax is still there though.
