There are a few teams fans who would say that you had some very generous refereeing decisions in a fair few games.

The only one I remember was Garcias goal against Chelsea, but whats never been mentioned is that if the goal hadn't have stood Cech would have been sent off and we would have had a penalty. I'd sooner the goal didn't stand, if we were back at that time.

We had good goals chalked off and very poor decisions against us in the the World Club Championship final and the CL final that we lost, mind you.

I don't think there is a manager anywhere who could do as good a job with us as Rafa.

Martin O'Neil.

Interestingly Rafa won the Champs League with Holiers team against a very strong Milan team. He lost the final with his own team against a pretty poor Milan side. :)

Robbie Keane works better with a tall striker, like crouch who you are selling. Can't see him working well with Torres.

Keane is vastly underrated. On the Spurs forums they all say he is the one player in their squad they would be genuinely gutted to lose. The guy has formed successful partnerships with every decent front man he has every played with. Possibly the best player in the Prem outside of the top four. Wasn't he the Prems top scorer a couple of seasons ago, though theres loads more to his game than goals.

:)

PS all spurs strikers were injuried? Bent, Pavlichanko (sp?) and Campbell arer't injuried.

I still think Keane is a good player Janie, he just doesn't have what it takes to be in a top club. To be fair to him, he worked his arse off both in training and in games. It was a combination of him bottling it and not having the nouse to pick up what the club were trying to teach him.

As for O'Neill, he has done brilliantly. But I don't think he will be able to keep Villa as a top four side. Even if they finish in the top four this term, coping with the CL as well as the Prem, let alone both cups, is a huge step up from anything he has ever done.

Mind you, if we didn't have such an incompetent and political, self serving Chief Exec in Rick Parry, O'Neills best player would have been at LFC all season. Barry would be a huge addition to our team.

Is Zlatan Ibrahimovic truely the most overrated player ever, or does he just play completely rubbish when his matches are broadcast in the UK?

The former. I've never, ever seen him have a good game for club or country.

Some bookies have stopped taking bets on Benitez being the Pool manager at the start of the season. Good job for Liverpool given the sacks of shit he keeps signing.

What if they sack him after he has blown the transfer budget ONOZ :)

Yes Ibrohimovic is overrated, never seen him have a good game. At least Lucas and Dossena are not overrated. They are just lamentable.
Benitez MUST go. After the joke against City, for which the usual blind faith in the 2 worst players about and clueless tactics, he's shown he has no idea what he is doing in the PL. Now isn't the time though, I'd make him walk at the end of the season. He has single handedly thrown away a promising position.
I also agree that Parry is as bad, the number of players he has lost due to his dithering (Ronaldo for one)

Joy the same 4 boring teams again - despict 3 or those 4 teams fans have been whining constantly all season.

I doubt it. The PL is a lot stronger than any of those leagues. It'll be more of a hassle but still a formality. PL clubs have been dominating the PL for the last two years and I don't expect it to change anytime soon. Much to Blatter and Platinis annoyance. Hah.

It really pisses me off that no-one in FIFA or UEFA batted an eyelid when Spanish and Italian teams bought whoever they wanted and were winning everything in site.

Now the shit-kickers from the UK have a bit of wonga to throw about it'd suddenly ruining the beautiful game.

Fuck 'em

The Front page of yesterdays Marca :

'This is Anifeld. So what - nothing special.'

Torres in todays Marca :

"Hemos mostrado por qu esto es Anfield, ya que no es un campo cualquiera"

'Today we showed them why this is Anfield; now they know its not just any other ground.'

First time this season our first 11 have been fit and it showed. We have a first 11-14 players capable of winning the Prem, but we can't yet cope with injuries.

Torres rubbing it in a bit, copying Rauls goal celebration when he scored, in front of the Real fans :

Real were bloody awful. I'd expect Man U or Chelsea to have also beaten them 4-0 or more. There were an embarassment to the shirt.

Spanish Champions, won nine drawn one in the last 10 La Liga games, best GK in the world in Casillas, Cannavaro, World Player of the Year two years at CB in front of him taken off mid way through the second half as he couldn't handle us. Yeah, they were shit, but largely because we totally dominated them from the first minute. Robben hardly got a touch in the first half.

I'm just happy to see our first 11 back on the pitch for what is the first time this season. We simply don't have quality in the squad to deal with injuries. That performance last night was sexual; you could have had Barry White playing over the tannoy for 90 minutes and it wouldn't have been out of place :D

Ranked number one team in Europe by EUFA for the first time since 1985 and Heysel and the strongest first 11 we have had in 20 years. That'll do for me. :)

Looking forward to Old Trafford on Saturday; its going to be a good match. I just hope it isn't settled either way by poor refereeing, a red card or a badly given set piece.

Yep, and they were absolutely woeful last night. Raul has apologised to the fans they were that bad.

Also, the first two goals were dubious at best.

Yes, Casillas is a great GK and he pulled off a couple of great saves last night. Cannavaro is past it; I never thought we was worth the WPoY - it was just because Italy won the WC. Ramos is half decent but without the equine one they are toothless up front. Robben is lightweight as we know from the PL and as for Gago et al, pfft. They looked like a Spurs team.

Fergie called it right a while ago; "Madrid are pedestrian". They are and they got soundly beaten. As they would have been by United, Chelsea, Bayern, Barca or any other half decent side.

Good for Liverpool that they are now in the quarters but I wouldn't get carried away based on that performance against a team that just didn't turn up.

Depending on the CL quarters draw, they might get through to the semis. The worst draw for them would be one of the other 3 English clubs tbh.

G. Southgate must be one hell of manager to easily beat the team that beat the team Flight mentions above. :)

Credit to Rafa though he is the King of the 2 legged fixture - someone really tell him though the Home and Away fixtures in the Premier League aren't the same and stop playing for draws :p
