Worst display in a decade, from us in the CL last night. Sunday can't come round fast enough.

To be honest the current Liverpool squad is starting to look like the squad Hollier left - You have Gerard and Carra and a few other decent players but loads and loads of average at best players.

I don't think thats true Janie. I rate :

Reina
Arbeloa
Agger
Carra
Aurelio
Finnan
Mascherano
Gerrard
Alonso
Babel
Torres
Kuyt

Then theres 4 or 5 who are good subs/backup (Benayoun, Crouch, Pennant). Trouble is, there are another half dozen who aren't good enough to even be in the squad, who are getting regular games due to this rotation system. Sissoko is astonishing sometimes, but now and again has a shocker - last night he was sat in the dressing room a full hour after the game, just looking at the floor with his head in his hands.

Heracy for an LFC supporter, but Carra has a big weakness in his game; he's the best pure defender in the country, but he isn't a great passer. Nine times out of ten he's more likely to hoof it out of defence and give possession back to the other side. Agger is a big miss for us; he compliments Carra perfectly and creates things from defence forward.

With Alonso out also, we are missing our two most creative players in defence and midfield. Just glad there are only three Prem games in Oct due to (spit) internationals.

We'll still go through in the CL, but I wouldn't mind if we got knocked out - it would force Benitez to concentrate on the Prem.

Would he keep his job if they went out in the group stages given how much cash he's been given?

I know you'll say his net spend isn't that great but people rarely tend to look at that.

Asked whether there was anything positive to take from the 1-0 defeat to Marseille, Benitez paused. "Yes," he replied. "It is finished."

Yes, his net spend wasn't anything like the tabloids make out. Selling players brought in 30 mill this summer.

He'll keep his job unless we come below the top four in the Prem.

Still think we will come second in the Prem. Its always a good sign when Ky starts slating us or our players - turns our season around :D Spurs will get battered on Sunday.

Season gets interesting after the next two games - Arse vrs LFC, then Arse vrs Mancs, few other tasty games.

Well, I can see us winning it if (and it's a huge hairy if) we can keep going like this all season. Crushing teams when we play really well and grinding out 1-0 wins when we don't/can't.

Can't see Chavski even making the top four unless something drastic changes there.

Manure are cock on a stick at the minute but they keep winning 1-0 so they'll probably be challenging all the way.

I can't see Liverpool getting higher than 3rd unless us or Manure have a bad run.

I don't think Kuyt is complete wank but his game does seem to rely on a constant delivery of highly accurate crosses/passes which he can just hit without doing much and/or playing against slow defenders who don't mark him closely.

He looks as if he lacks the speed, mobility and skill to create anything for himself.

Granted I don't see him play often but, when I do, that's the impression I always get.

So Arsenal then. Inevitable blossoming of talent after the departure of Les Miserable or bit of a purple patch with the same issues hidden under youthful vigor?

I reckon the next two games may give us some idea.

You've had a great start, but the fixtures have been pretty kind to say the least. Your only trip up north resulted in dropped points and you haven't play any of the other big 3 yet.

Best news of the week. Gary Megson a manager no Leicester fan wanted in the first place is leaving to join Bolton after 6 weeks. :)

We only dropped points oop norf due to Mad Jens being.......well.......mad.

As a few Arsenal fans are starting to point out, last season we did really well against the other top teams and sucked against the lesser lights for which we were slated accordingly. This season, we're kicking ass.........and getting slated for not having played any of the top teams and only being #1 due to playing the lesser lights.

Given the original critisism, anyone who levels the latter against us just makes me laugh :D

I can see us beating the Scousers due to their form of later but you never know. Manure are starting to worry me though. Then again, playing them always worries me and we've done quite well against them of late.

I don't anyone who has stated Arsenal for having a relatively easy fixture list.

It's as if Arsenal fans habour some secret desire to be hated and go about making stuff up when in truth must people media and football fans love the way Arsenal play football under Wenger. Inferiority complex much? :p

Granted you're not exactly slating us but you do seem to imply we're only where we are due to playing shite teams so far. Basically it appears you were more or less doing what you've just said you haven't seen anyone doing.

That aside, if you read a few of the football website forums I read, you'd most likely find several comments saying we're only where we are due to easy early fixtures. Likewise, there were several comments last season about the fact we couldn't beat the lesser teams.

If we were going on what you knew, most threads would be over somewhat quickly.
