What do you guys actually think of it?

Git

Your opinion is worthless....
Replaying areas is fine for hunting down items, so no issue with that.

Popped into Game today, thinking I would find D3 cheaper than Gamestation who are selling it for 45!!

Game told me they are no longer stocking hard copies of D3 as head office said too many had been returned after launch due to people not being able to get online to actually play. Not a good bit of PR there!

I will hold off until I can get it much cheaper than 45 I think.

in all honesty since buying the game on DL from Blizztard, i reckon people are returning it not a lie from game for sure, a couple of times over the last week it's been down, error 37,73 and 74 and possibly 75 lol, not that I am going to complain but shit loads did lol..

on top of this, when I did the download it defaulted me to the US client, fook knows why but it did, so last night after the patch, I went checking the forums, one stated that you need to remove the US version and reinstall the EU version, I did luckily the DL was pretty quick... but can you tell me why mine was defaulted on the EU Blizzard website to the US version?

it's little things like this that kill games or do them serious damage, it's a bit like AION saying it was a pvp game, after 3 months the pop dived as they realised it was a rehash of WoW with BG's....

I just don't think game companies can afford to mislead and fuck up the way they did in the old days, people have much shorter tempers and much longer memory spans for shit games/companies that make em! prime example being EA.......... bunch o cunts.

I've found most of the issues and bugs are gone now.

As for people on the forum moaning, well yeah, find me a popular game that doesn't have a forum full of people moaning. Nobodys going to go into that mob and make a thread saying "hey i love the game!".

and yes, I find much amusement from the people moaning about item drops, I've seen on my HC forums that a guy was moaning about not being able to get drops in act I that last until hell.

which i'd agree is not a valid complaint to have.
but what is a valid complaint is that you can be doing hell act 1 and 2 at around level 55, and the vast majority of drops are for level 30-40. it makes it rather difficult to gear up significantly!

This is such a subjective thing I really don't envy developers

12% say it's too easy
72% say it's about right
25% say it's too hard
1% have your home address and you live in fear

Talili and I haven't really played enough (5 hour session together a couple of weekends ago) to comment, but having played D1 and D2 alot when I was single I'm really enjoying D3, enough items have got upgrades I'm feeling progression, the fights are fun, though only a few needed tactics as yet but it's early in the game. Only thing I'd change is making the text bigger, which I thought was just my eyes, but even Talili said the font was uncomfortably small.

Worth the money, though I think I've got more play time out of "Where my Water" on the iPad which cost 0.69 I think mainly because I always feel I need a block of time to play Diablo, while I can do one level of an iPad game quickly while waiting for Talili to get ready

That is mostly caused about people playing safe, on SC mode I'll quite happily sprint through acts and do bosses at much lower levels, I'm fairly sure by Act 3 normal mode, my HC character was a good 10 levels higher than my SC char at the same point. Playing safe and farming means you'll be a higher level than is "intended" for the place you're on. the item drops you get are a result of this.

More amusingly though, I find it funny about people complaining that they wont be able to get rushed to 60 and skip act bosses in 1.0.3. I think blizz should just remove the whole game element, and let you roll level 60 toons and then log off.

I hate getting rushed tbh, I start feeling jetlagged and out of my depth. I like to explore every square inch of a map and find all the nooks n crannies and pick up every fragment of loot. When gaming socially I do manage to resist picking up every spec of loot but its only because I would be spending all my time crawling about the floor when whoever I am gaming with is mowing their way through mobs.

Waiting on the post now, but I will be taking my time to enjoy everything at a slow pace in normal before I probably try NM with u guys.

Now just need to choose either barb or wizard.

Monk ;)

Picty its worth exploring because there are some events that dont happen every game. My Chris was playing act I norm as a barb yesterday and came across some books (Warrivs Journal) and a couple of events that I hadnt yet seen and I have played act one with various characters half a dozen times now.

Ok, my full game arrived today and I am thoroughly enjoying beyond the demo. It feels like the old D2 magic to me now, not sure why I wasn't convinced by the demo, but now I'm home :D

I am slowly leveling my barb, so not wanting to group just yet, but I have sent loads of friend requests from the list here ready for NM!

Cracking game, wish I hadn't cancelled my pre-order now.

Picty, I'm with you, have to cover every bit of a map, click on every chest and dead body and explore all caves, dungeons etc! To me thats part of the fun of the game. Hate being rushed but appreciate that sometimes it's necessary. Find it really hard to read the chat and type in responses in time before it all disappears due to spamming of others offering items / gold to buy!
All in all though, enjoying just pottering around and getting back into the swing of gaming after a break of over 2 + years

I'm the same too and even though I have had to restart again, I am still plodding along making sure everywhere has been cleared. Only change this time is I rarely bother with ashes or barrels as bugger all seems to drop from them.

Dead Again, I need a Rez
I agree with Picty and Sharlan, I like to explore everything, was playing with Legs and I think he was trying to get the achievement for completing a act in under 1 hour lol
