I must admit ive never mined , however Taians gravl and emmon have a mining set up that brings in hundreds of millions .

I just buy and sell goods off the market and travel in safe [ 0.6 - 1.0] space with my big industrial ship .I can make 2 mill or so on a round trip if the prices are ok after server up . i know this is small beer tho when the blockade runner ship i fancy later on costs 80 mill :)

Suits me cos i can set the routes running on my laptop whilst im working :)

If you're doing it on your own in a combat ship, it's so-so. If you work as a team, with people specialised as haulers, miners, and optional escorts, then it can be pretty lucrative, yeah.

By the time I quit, my guild was doing mining trips to 0.0 space, with about 15 people mining and 5 people in battleships set up for combat, but using mining drones when not fighting. Had 2-3 people specialised in haulers making trips to a supply dump in the middle of no-where (just a crapload of floating containers of ore and ammo etc. with a waypoint only we had the co-ordinates to. Pretty damn unlikely someone'd just come across it). The hauler gimps could then make trips (usually escorted by a battleship or at least a cruiser or two) to pick up the ore at their leisure.
Made quite a bundle from that, including quite a lot of rare ores and the occasional upgrade from the pirates - were able to kit out people in ships and equipment almost as soon as they trained the skills.

At the end of the 14 day trial in whatever ship I was in I could net just over 2 million per asteroid trip in 0.6 space which probably took me maybe 15 minutes or so, longer if pirates caught a whiff of me.

So that's fairly lucrative although I did spend some time finding a good place to sell the unrefined ore (which sold for more for some reason). Which was nice as I managed to pay back the corp I was with, I'd just started messing around making my own ships for a giggle (made far less money selling ships), and it was nice flying around in the little ships I'd made myself.

As Rorsch said as well, sometimes Pirates drop some very nice stuff as well.

Now all stop talking about it :p You're making me want to come back damnit.

Will probably get the Trial once the 4mb internet is put in.. dont really want to have to sit and DL 600mb or whatever on a half meg connection :)

Gits !!!! I'll be re-installing over the weekend and back in to start training if nothing else early in the week. Might even make it to some guild runs of fun if we know where we are gonna base the corp so I can get myself there.

P.S I'd recommend 0.6 space, places to mine normally and safeish

Edit : P.P.S Will be using Vent when I am on, easier than typing in the vacuum of space IMHO and we can try and disprove the theory that "In space no-one can hear you fart"

lesson: Don't go pirate hunting in a n00b equipped frigate on 0.4 space on your own :D that'oh crap' feeling when 2x -9.5 & -9.8 sec players warp into the field you are in was worth every ISK i'm having to re-earn.

So where is everyone?
At them mo not to impressed im doing the tutorial and jumping around alot not doing much else. Mining looks boring, i want to kill stuff for credits, but my ships crappy. oh and how do i learn new skills i can only train up the start ones
And anyone know why the info on the area im in has disapeared from the top left corner

Oh and another thing can you only do cloning in certain stations cuz the tutorials saying im reaching 60k points but im actually 100k right now, and i dont see a cloning option where im at

Not all features are enabled in the trial

make sure you do all the tutorial because the are rewards at the end that will set you up .

As for the crappy starter ship , do the tutorial get cash and train up ship flying skills you will soon be onto bigger things

this seems kind of fun, although i cant remember what i called my charcater at the moment, hopefully have my destroyer in a couple more days yay

Tutorial sucks and Eve is slow till you get skills to fly ships and actually have PG/CPU/CAP to use them.

Good ships to fly are Assualt Frigates (AF's). Not much to train to get them and pretty cheap. Harpy, Ishukor and Enyo are some of the better ones imo.

If you want to learn skills fast, Caldari Achura is nice and imbalanced.

Get learning, analytical mind, iron will, instant recall and spatial awareness to IV in the short term. Do the advanced skills once you have a decent money making ship such as AF's, battleships etc

Train Mining IV in the short term so you can use miner II's when ever you feel like it.

Goofing around in Aramachi doing some missions as Taaii. I want a faction Raven :D

Anyone who knows more about the game want to organise something fun where we could maybe all meet up and do "something" in whatever place would be safe for a bunch of people just starting out ?

I can't decide whether to start again with better stats or re-activate the old one and carry on from where I left off (the only thing I really remember was having 4 drones and a nice large cargo hold for mining)

The below link is a good character app to get exact skill times and plan out routes you want to go. Its secure so dont worry about having to put your username/password in. Its been checked by CCP (EVE's developers) for anything devious.

It can be a little buggy at times. You might have to manually add in your implants and occasionally, it won't log on to retrieve your current skill training.

Taaii is my main and i play Emmon atm till he plays again. Hes my uber l337 mining bitch.
