I joined one of BoB's pets (Axiom Empire) the other week after this all kicked off thinking it would be a good time to experience 0.0.

Crap so far, no fleets being organised except for the occasional gate camp where you get in on a few gankmails and then run back to lowsec at the first sign of a local spike (with good reason I suppose.. what with Goon/Naptrain fielding an assload of capitals 23/7).

P.S. Only joined BoB's side because I thought the whole one man to disband an alliance thing was a bit gay, especially as you need a vote to put anything else major through (so i'm told).

P.P.S. Axiom Empire seem a bit fail, limited logistics (had to fly my ships in ~20 jumps through lowsec...), Over 1000 people in the alliance yet seems rare to see more than 70-80 on at the same time.

Having seen the goons fight several tiems before i can predict the following:

1. First few weeks = Heavy losse to BoB.
2. Slow battle of attrition being won by Goons as their sheer numbers and enthusiasm for killing bob drives the proles forward.
3. Bob play the Waiting game. Campin stations is booring.
4. Goon Offensive Tailing off of this over the next couple of months as they get bored.
5. Bob space returns in a slightly different shape.
6. PL continue to be a nightmare.

For those interested, this is a good layman's explanation of everything that has happened so far (note that it's about 60 A4 pages long though):

That is an awesome post :) It sounds liek they are doing "what you do in these situations".

1. Relase a "general order" to relocate to place X
2. Be unsuprised when place X is then bubblecamped for 2 months.
3. Spend ages in empire on alts building, NPC'ing, mining, whatever. Note: If you need to be ordered to do this, then you shouldn't be in BOB in the first place.
4. See your alliance dwindle too the hard core, as the gravytrainers piss off to so mother FOTM Alliance (AAA?)
5. Come back later and see what you can salvage & rebuild if you have the Will.

Anything in NPC stations, including jump clones, is 100% safe.
Anything in capturable stations is still safe, it's jsut you ahve to assault the systems first to get them back, and they won't even be sov3 secure for 3 months. Yet alone Sov4 (uncontestable constelation capital) You jsut need the Will to recover it.

Stuff in space is probably dead, but who cares really ? :)

The problem with Goonswarm is they have never achieved anything in the game without this sort of manouver. Their morale is Sky High right now and it's jsut impossinble to fight them when any fleet will be blobbed 6-7:1 within minutes by the scum of the universe (*RP).

It will be interesting to look back on this in 3 months.

The problem is by the time it gets to 4 and 5 Goons have Sov 4 in Delve and BoB have no 0.0 industry or infrastructure.

I meant Flight, that it will takie 2 months to get Sov3 Cynojammig up in delve, and another month after that for Sov4 to get locked down.

As said in another thread - this is their change (goons) to actually kill BoB* once and for all. If they fail now, as they have failed before, then it's all over for them.

As INSRG discovered, taking space is fairly easy as you can just romp about hitting towers until something breaks, then chuck up some POS of your own and win. The hardest part we found was when we had more space suddently than we anticipated, and not enough towers / logistics in place to do anything about it.

That, and defending. Thers a big red marker on the map saying "We are Here, Come Get Us" and defending is frankly boring.

Time Will Tell.
